COUNTRY CLUB & GOLF COURSE UPDATES
Please remember that the country club and its golf course is private property. Villages of Marlborough (VOM) residents should not be on the property. The VOM Board of Directors (BOD) advises against entering the property for any reason. Parts of the property may be unsafe. Please remind your children as well they should not be on the property especially near the swimming pool. Youth have been observed dangerously gathering around the pool.
A foreclosure process was completed on the golf course as of April 11, 2011. The Board was contacted by the Attorney representing the bank. He inquired about the community concerns. The bank has fixed the fence at the pool. The grass cutting began on April 29, 2011. A regular contract will be established and the grass will be maintained. Also, we requested that the tree on Lords Landing be removed. The bank is meeting with contractors and establishing a plan for the course. A meeting is scheduled for early May with the VOM Board members and state and county officials. After the initial meeting a community meeting will be scheduled. The Board will continue to update the community as information is received.
ENTRANCES
The new front entrance sign is complete with updated lighting. Lasting Impressions began to plant new flowers at the front and rear entrance and the median strip beds. We hope you enjoy the improvements. Please feel free to comment in the contact us section.
TOT LOTS
The tot lot at Colonel Darnell is being spruced up for spring. It includes a power washing, fresh wood chips, replacement of damaged equipment and tree trimming/removal. The walking trail will also be paved in the coming months.
PETS
Please remember, you are REQUIRED to have your dog on a leash at all times. If you are a pet owner you are required to scoop the poop!! The pet receptacles are the responsibility of each sub association to refill with bags; however; don't leave HOME without ONE!!!
TRASH
Make sure that you adhere to the proper disposal of trash. Check the bylaws of your community for compliance. Trash should not be placed at the curb in plastic bags; the bags must be in trash container. Trash containers should not be in public view except on days of trash collection. Schedule bulk pickup by contacting 301/952-7600. Bulk items should not be put out until your appointment date.
STATUS OF YOUR REQUESTS
MEETING SIGNS
Meeting signs have been purchased. Signs will be placed at both entrances of the community. The signs will remind all residents of the monthly VOM BOD meetings. The Board welcomes all residents to the meetings at any time. The Board is glad to hear directly from the residents.
TRASH ALONG JOHN RODGERS BOULEVARD
The Board is aware of the increase of trash along John Rodgers Blvd. ProCom has met with the current contractor about his services. The BOD requests more attention to the side area from the entrance to Hampshire Hall. Additionally all signs placed along the median strip will be removed.
STATUS OF THE SECURITY COMMITTEE
The Board will seek volunteers to serve on the security committee. Ideally, the volunteers will represent each Sub-Association and have decision making authority. This committee will research additional security options. After discussing the best alternatives for the community and researching the cost, hopefully we can move forward with securing additional security.
BROKEN CURB AND PAVING OF JOHN RODGERS BOULEVARD
The Board has requested that the County repair the broken curb along the median strip and re pave Johns Rodgers Boulevard. To date, the County has not responded to either request. The request will be renewed with the County periodically. Please feel free as County Residents to make individual request for these services.
CROSS WALK REQUEST
The request was made for the cross walk at John Rodgers and Colonel Dent. The cross walk is installed.
NO PARKING ON LORDS LANDING
Due to the commercial vehicles consistently parking along Lords Landing; a request was submitted to the County for consideration for a "No Parking" zone. It is the second busiest street in the community because it leads out of the community. Though you cannot park commercial vehicles on a County road; they continue to park them. Our officer and county officers have ticketed the vehicles. A call will be made to the companies of the vehicles advising them that the vehicle is being parked illegally on a regular basis. We urge all residents concerned with this matter to call the companies as well. The companies own the vehicles not the persons driving them.
The Board does its best to work with individual residents and sub associations in the best interest of all community residents. It takes EVERYONE to keep the VILLAGES OF MARLBOROUGH a GREAT place to live. If you have a concern or a suggestion, you can contact the Board directly via the website at www.villagesofmarlborough.org or via email at hoa@villagesofmarlborough.org. A response is usually provided within two business days. You may also contact Sue Fetsko, our property manager at ProCom at 410.721.0777 ext. 165.
We need all residents to be the eyes and ears of the community. Let’s not divide and conquer but work together for success.
If you are not sure who to contact about your concern; start with your sub association. VOM-HOA is glad to assist but our responsibility is limited. Many sub associations are unable to operate efficiently because of delinquent fees. We encourage you to pay your sub association fees so your immediate community can operate efficiently and meet the needs of its community.
Villages of Marlborough Annual Dues
Villages of Marlborough Annual Dues, in the amount of $100, were due by January 31, 2011. If you have not paid your Villages of Marlborough annual dues, please contact our Property Manager, Sue Fetsko at 410-721-0777 ext. 165 or by email at sfetsko@procomgt.com for the status of your account.
Architectural Changes to the Exterior Property
If you are planning to make any changes to the exterior of your residence, you, not your contractor, must obtain an Architectural Change Form from your Sub-Association (see Our Associations). You will then submit the completed form to your Sub Associations Architectural committee for review. This form is then sent to the Villages of Marlborough Board of Directors for its review.
Building permits may be required. If in doubt, contact the County Building Permit Section at 301-952-4456.
